Objective of the year
:
1.1 Building up positive values among students
English teachers should build up routines for students to greet teachers politely at the beginning of each lesson. Teachers suggested that a class chart with different criteria such as good behaviour, attentiveness, punctuality of homework submission will be set up in the classroom to encourage students to build up positive values among students.
1.2 Optimizing the curriculum, teaching and learning
The implementation of PLP-R/W will be introduced in September 2008 to optimize the curriculum, teaching and learning. Teachers are advised to take more courses or workshops to get more exposure to up-to-date English teaching techniques and teaching ideas.
1.3 Strengthening home-school co-operation
Parents’ workshops will be organized for Primary One students to introduce the PLP-R/W, get parents familiar with the main teaching processes and learning mode of students as well as to improve the co-operation between school and parents. Workshops of how parents may help students to learn English will be held in the coming year term.
